Michigan DOT tapped Integral Blue when it needed to move its Intelligent Transportation Systems communication backbone and video wall. The move was significant: migrate MDOT’s southeast ITS traffic operations communication network from the Michigan Intelligent Transportation System Center (MITSC) to the new Southeast Michigan Transportation Operations Center.
Integral Blue managed and engineered the ITS Integration portion of this project, providing QA/QC services and coordinating and reviewing all technology submittals from various technology subcontractors. Leveraging its experience with MDOT’s ITS communications infrastructure, Integral Blue successfully engineered and implemented a solution that involved the relocation of various fiber optic and wireless network connections and a large video wall system. Integral Blue developed a detailed project plan that limited communication and device down times and ensured a timely transition with no gaps in MDOT’s ability to manage ITS operations. Integral Blue developed and executed a comprehensive acceptance test plan that validated all network communications and system functionality. The result was a smooth transition for the agency operations hub.
